Blogmas #17 - exciting stuff.

day seventeen...

I've recently become a convert to facial oils, and to be honest I'm not sure how I got by without them. This revelation was encouraged by my friend Alice when we were shopping in Boots together - ever the enabler. She recommended the Rose Hydrate Facial Oil from the Una Brennan Superfacialist range as a pre-cleanse, and thank god she did because I'm literally hooked.

I've always avoided using oils in the past probably because I believed I had oily skin and thus concluded that I didn't need them. However, I soon learned that it's absolutely fine to use oils on oily skin. No matter how oily, your skin still needs hydrating, and the very reason your skin is oily could be because it's not receiving enough moisture and is thus producing more oil in order to compensate. Bad times.

Anyway, given my new found love for facial oils, it'll probably be no surprise to you all that I got super excited to see the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil behind door 17.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil.

Although I'd never actually heard of it before, a quick cursory google produced many rave testimonials and reviews - always a good sign. The cleansing oil is actually from Japan, and is apparently excellent at removing make-up and deep cleansing, two things that would probably make this great as a pre-cleanse treatment. My only small gripe is that it doesn't have a pump. Having said that, the larger sizes of the product do, so it's clearly due to the size of the bottle that there's no pump. I can however get over it, especially given that I feel this oil is the perfect size for travelling, something I'm hoping to do a fair amount next year. It will no doubt be coming with me..
